Youth Ministry at CRC
Our youth programs are distinctively gospel-centered. The Sunday School classes and outreach programs are not merely concerned with producing “good kids” but rather spiritually-alive kids; kids who passionately love Christ and serve others.
In addition to participation in the main aspects of our congregational life (weekly worship, small groups, Sunday School, etc.), we have social, outreach and service events, as well as retreats, designed specifically for teens. Some of these are listed below:
Junior/Senior High Work Project to Mississippi
On February 16-23, youth from CRC did hurricane relief work in D’Iberville, MS. This group did a great work in sheetrock, wiring, and yardwork for homes damaged or rebuilt as a result of Hurricane Katrina. After the return of the group, we took an offering to help pay for the materials for a new roof for one of the prominent relief workers there. Overall, this work was a huge success.
Junior/Senior High Summer Retreat
Over the past several years we’ve joined with other churches to host a summer youth retreat for 7th-12th Graders at Storrs Pond. This year’s retreat is on July 14th-19th and we are offering spots for college students and young adults to join us as well. See this page for details.
Traditionally, the highlight of the week is our time of community service. Last year, about 140 students and chaperones descended upon 19 different locations to lend a helping hand to various public institutions and charitable organizations throughout the Upper Valley. We estimate that in that one afternoon we were able to contribute over 400 hours of service, which, of course, was a real encouragement to the organizations we served. Big thanks to all of those who are helping us organize this service again this year!
