How Can I Get Connected at Christ Redeemer Church?

At CRC we welcome people from every background and every stage in their journey with Christ. CRC is comprised of people that are committed followers of Jesus as well as those just investigating. Wherever you might find yourself, there is a place for you at CRC.

In light of this, many times, people ask, “How exactly should I go about getting involved at CRC?” Below is a description of what this might look like, depending on the stage you are at in your journey with Christ. If you need help in this process, just ask a friend at CRC or contact the church office.

Just Investigating?

If you are just investigating the Gospel of Christ, there are several points of connections you might find helpful:

• Worship: Every Sunday morning at 10:00AM, you’ll find ample opportunity to learn about Jesus and what He has done for us.
• Sunday School: We offer classes for all ages including classes for adults. In these classes you are welcome to jump into the dialogue or just sit and listen. More information is available under our Ministries link.
• Various Other Ministries: For Men (Men’s small groups, retreats, etc.), Women (Bible studies, retreats, etc.), Youth, Work Place (e.g. work place Bible studies and prayer groups).

Desiring a Greater Level of Participation?

If you are investigating what it means to be a Christian, or have been a Christian for awhile but are new to CRC, we strongly recommend that you become a participant in the life of the community. Experiencing life in the body of Christ is the best way to learn what the Gospel is all about. Here are two key opportunities:

• Sunday Service Rotation: At many churches opportunities for personal involvement are limited. At CRC, however, we take a very different approach; we invite anyone who considers CRC their “church home” to serve and participate in the life of the body. One of the practical ways we do this is to include everyone in the various areas of service on Sunday morning (e.g. helping to set up for the worship service, Greeting, Nursery, Junior Church, etc.). We have found that there is always some way for an individual or family to contribute. And in contributing, we are not only accomplishing “the task” but also learning what it means to live together as the “family of God”.
• Community Groups: It is our belief and experience that the Gospel creates community and is designed to function in the midst of community. “Christianity means community through Jesus Christ and in Jesus Christ” (Dietrich Bonhoeffer). Therefore, the backbone of CRC is a network of small groups, each designed to be a growing mini-Christian community. Comprised of 6 to 12 people, they meet regularly during the week in individual homes. Each group is led by trained leaders who are given on-going support. The groups come in a variety of stripes. Some are investigative—for those that are just investigating the Gospel. Others are more advanced—focusing on helping believers to be faithful to Christ. In these groups people are able to come to know and to experience life in Christ for themselves, at their own pace.

Desiring To Become a Member?

At CRC we take church membership very seriously. For a person to be a follower of Christ, we feel it is necessary to be committed to a local church. If you have been a Christian for a long time but are new to CRC or if you have recently become a Christian, and so would like to become a member, join us for our “Introduction to CRC” class that runs periodically during our Sunday School hour or talk to one of our pastoral staff.

God calls many to be not merely faithful members in His church but also to serve the church through leadership.
