Community Service Day 2012

On Wednesday, July 11th Christ Redeemer Church organized a day of community service. This service day was in connection with our Summer Youth Retreat. This year we sent out over 190 volunteers to 22 different locations to lend a helping hand to various public institutions and charitable organizations throughout the Upper Valley. Collectively, we logged over 800 volunteer hours! It was awesome to see how many volunteers rallied for this monumental effort.

As you can see from the photos above, the volunteers served with smiles. They cleaned chairs, refrigerators, artwork, and toys. They shoveled dirt, and manure. They pulled weeds, removed invasive species, split and stacked wood. They mowed ski hills and cleared brush. They painted trashcans, goal posts and walls. They stained a deck. They washed windows, fire trucks, and buses. They tore up old floors and walls. They painted the outside of the office at Storrs Pond Recreation Area and inside the Lodge at the Storrs Hill Ski Area. They even gave an impromptu performance for seniors at the Hanover Senior Center.
