Community Service Day 2013

On Wednesday, July 10th Christ Redeemer Church organized a day of community service. This service day was in connection with the Summer Youth Retreat at Storrs Pond. This year we sent out over 160 volunteers to 19 different locations to lend a helping hand to various public institutions and charitable organizations throughout the Upper Valley. Collectively, we logged over 600 volunteer hours! It was awesome to see how many volunteers rallied for this monumental effort.

As you can see from the photos above, the volunteers served with smiles. They cleaned chairs, refrigerators, artwork, and blinds. They shoveled mulch and manure. They pulled weeds and roots, removed invasive species, cleared brush and stacked wood. They painted dugouts, concession stands and foul polls at the Lebanon Baseball Fields. They washed windows and buses. They even cooked meals at the Upper Valley Haven.

Here are some of the other places that we served this year:

  • Richard W. Black Community Center in Hanover
  • Rinker Steele Natural Areas in Hanover
  • Storrs Pond Recreation Area in Hanover
  • Hayes Farm Park in Etna
  • Howe Library in Hanover
